After riding bikes to school this morning, Neil walked up to his teacher and said "I must've rode my bike here."
Yesterday, I had lunch with Natalie at school. Neil walked by me in the hall and gave me five with his ketchup-covered hand. I told him to go find a napkin, and he ran off to class. After school, his hand was still covered in ketchup, but it was dry and confetti-encrusted, so it was all good.

The Things They Say
In Lubbock today. The kids went with Nonny to work at the hospital for a couple of hours, and she introduced them to the ladies working at the information desk. One of them leaned over to Neil and said "How are you young man?" Neil squints a little and says "You are reeeeeally old."

So proud of my little girl.. We all went down to San Antonio for vacation this past weekend, and she volunteered to help me unload the car when we got there. She carried WAY more than should have been possible, and she held the doors for me every time she could if I was carrying a heavy load. She then proceeded to give me a BIG hug and said "Daddy, thank you for this vacation." That just melted my heart.. She seems so grown up these days and seems to have so much perspective. She also petted her brother and helped him get to sleep when he needed a nap (which happened a lot!).. I'm so proud of her.
